The twice-born son

Being by the ruined temple was not an accident. He had seen it thrice in his dreams always waking up before the deity showed him the reason he was led to there. He had been left with a vague sense of riches awaiting him if he visited the place.

After much googling and scraping together the money, he had made the trip. Now standing in front of the temple, he felt foolish. Was all of this for nothing?

After circumbulating the temple a few times, he had turned to leave when he had come face to face with a withered old lady who had screamed “Kaun-proh” and hugged him.

Seeing his confusion, she had replied in broken English – “You. My dead son. Come back. I give you much gold.” and led him to a hidden chamber beneath the temple with bars of gold filled to the ceiling.

  1. What a fabulous story. You perfectly capture the nagging half-remembered sense of dreams. Glad this fellow followed his dream. It certainly had a payoff!
